M.Sc. project lecture on 3 June

31.5.2010 Alvin Remoroza, REYST student, will give a lecture on his M.Sc. project "Calcite mineral scaling potentials of high-temperature geothermal wells” in lecture room 131 in the Askja building, University of Iceland, on Thursday, June 3 at 15:00.

Alvin will talk about his studies of well fluids discharged from wells at Hellisheidi, Iceland and the Mahanagdong and Pataan geothermal fields in Philippines but they concentrate on evaluating the state of calcite saturation accompanying boiling. All the study fields occur in different geological environments. The state of calcite saturation for excess enthalpy wells is based on specific models to calculate the initial aquifer fluid composition which is based on geothermometry results.

Alvin´s supervisor is Stefán Arnórsson and the external examiner Ingvi Gunnarsson.
